Nathalie Nathalie 2 Masiela Masiela 2Nathalie Emmanuel (born in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, UK) is an English actor. She is most famous for her role as Missandei in the HBO Fantasy drama Game of Thrones (2011). Nathalie has been a English actress who was born in Southend-on-Sea (Essex), England. Her father is Saint Lucian-English heritage, as does her mother was Dominican. Nathalie says that her mother was the first person to incite her desire for a career as an actress. The role she played was Young Nala at her role in the West End Production of The Lion King at the age of 10 years old. In 2006, she got her television break by starring as Sasha Valentine in the teen soap-opera Hollyoaks (1995). Emmanuel was a part of the show up to 2010, in which her plotlines focused on prostitutes as well as heroin addiction. Nathalie played the role of host on BBC Three's Web-sex - What's The Harm to You?, which examined online sexual behaviours of UK 16-24-year-olds. Also in that same year she made her film debut in the suspense film Twenty8. She was then cast in the fantasy show Game of Thrones (2011, HBO) in the role of Missandei Targaryen as Daenerys translator. Emmanuel began to join the regular cast in 2015. The same year, she played cyber-hacker Ramsey in the action-film Furious 7 (2015) and Harriet in the sequel to sci-fi Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015). FHM magazine ranked Emmanuel 99th on their list of the 100 Sexiest Females in 2013. In Style and GQ featured her in their March 2015 issues.
