Talented as a thespian, she's been working in the world of professional acting for the last 27 years. Her first stage appearance was in 1990 with an Off-Broadway version of The Big Funk directed by John Patrick Shanley. She was then cast for her first role on television, The Perfect Tribute. The year was 1992 and she got her first role as a character supporting in Basic Instinct. It marked the start of her career career. In The Firm, she played the lead female role for the first time. She was cast opposite Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. In the 1990s Gwyneth was a co-star alongside Hugh Grant on Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews for Relative Values. Most recently, she played in the role as the character of Dr. Alex Blake in Criminal Minds.
